Who are we?

  • Some of us are organists and some of us are organ buffs.
  • Some of us are concert organists and some of us are just beginners.
  • Some of us have advanced degrees in organ and some of us are self-taught.
  • Some of us play pipe organs and some of us play electronic organs.
  • Some of us are choral conductors.

We are 13,000 people who are passionate about the organ. As a member of the AGO, you will get to know and work with other organists who share their knowledge and passion to educate and inspire.

The American Guild of Organists is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt,
501 (c) (3) organization.

The Scholarship Fund
is used for the education of new organists. It was established by member Donald Conover to celebrate a milestone birthday in order to address the shortage of competent church organists in Hawaii.  Over 128 awards have been given through this generous program and many students have gone to to further organ study on the mainland and church music careers.

The John McCreary Concert Fund was established to bring an artist of national stature to perform at the Annual Organ Concert. To date, the Hawaii Chapter has presented Paul Jacobs, Chelsea Chen, Aaron David Miller, Isabelle Demers, Christopher Houlihan, Namhee Han, Nathan Laube, Michael Hey, Greg Zelek, Joey Fala, Yuri McCoy, and Adam Pajan in concert. Ken Cowan came to Hawaii to present a concert kicking off the named fund.

The Aloha Benevolent Fund was established as part of our outreach to members and other persons who might need emergency or financial assistance due to catastrophic events. The purpose of the fund is to receive contributions to further benevolent activities of the chapter consistent with the aims and purposes of the AGO. These donations are fully tax-deductible.

Unrestricted Donations may also be given to further the activities of the Hawaii Chapter American Guild of Organists.
