Why donate to the Hawaii Chapter American Guild of Organists?

The mission of the American Guild of Organists is to enrich lives through organ and choral music.

To achieve this, we:

  • Encourage excellence in the performance of organ and choral music;
  • Inspire, educate, and offer certification for organists and choral conductors;
  • Provide networking, fellowship, and mutual support;
  • Nurture future generations of organists;
  • Promote the organ in its historic and evolving roles; and
  • Engage wider audiences with organ and choral music.
The American Guild of Organists is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization.

The Scholarship Fund awards one-half the cost of organ lessons to deserving students up to $500 for the first year of study, and $250 each for the second and third years of organ study. It was established by member Donald Conover to celebrate a milestone birthday in order to address the shortage of competent church organists in Hawaii. Over 60 students have been recipients of this generous program and many have gone on to further organ study on the mainland and church music careers.

The John McCreary Concert Fund was established to bring an artist of national stature to perform at the Annual Organ Concert. To date, the Hawaii Chapter has presented Paul Jacobs, Chelsea Chen, Aaron David Miller, Isabelle Demers, Christopher Houlihan, Namhee Han and Nathan Laube in concert.

The Aloha Benevolent Fund was established as part of our outreach to members and other persons who might need emergency or financial assistance due to catastrophic events. The purpose of the fund is to receive contributions to further benevolent activities of the chapter consistent with the aims and purposes of the AGO. These donations are fully tax-deductible.

Unrestricted Donations may also be given to further the activities of the Hawaii Chapter American Guild of Organists.
